Robert Lockwood is an employment attorney who is the founder of Lockwood & Associates in Huntsville, Alabama. He tries cases in all state and federal courts, as well as administrative hearings at all levels of government. Robert has been recognized as an Alabama SuperLawyer in the area of employment law since 2011. He holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, signifying that his peers rank him at the highest level of professional excellence.
Robert represents individuals, businesses and governmental entities in employment, civil rights, corporate and contractual matters. He is a former law clerk to United States District Court Judge C. Lynwood Smith, Jr. Robert’s experience with Judge Smith as well as his extensive private practice has proven beneficial in representing clients across Alabama.
Outside the practice of law, Robert is involved both professionally and civically. He is a member of the Alabama Board of Bar Examiners, a Fellow of the Alabama Law Foundation, a former member of the Alabama Access to Justice Commission and a graduate of the Alabama State Bar’s Leadership Forum. Robert is a former President of the Huntsville-Madison County Bar Association and the Board of the Madison County Volunteer Lawyer Program. He is a graduate of Leadership Huntsville/Madison County Class 24, and is the former President of the Huntsville Rotary Club. Robert and his wife, Julie, attend Huntsville First United Methodist Church, where he has served on the Board of Trustees. They have two sons, Carter and Richard.
